Your First Session
Your first session is relaxed and unhurried — 90 minutes, face-to-face in Toowoomba, by phone, or via Zoom. I’ll listen warmly to what’s brought you in and together we’ll begin to map out what you’d like to work on.

Booking FAQs
Do I need a GP referral to book a session?
No referral is needed at all. You can contact me directly by phone, email, or the contact form above and book a session without needing to see a GP first. Sessions are privately billed at $150 per session, and you’re free to reach out whenever you feel ready — no waitlists, no gatekeepers.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Life happens — I completely understand. All I ask is that you give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows the appointment time to be offered to someone else who may need it.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may attract a reduced cancellation fee. If something genuinely unexpected comes up, please just let me know — I’ll always try to be as flexible as possible.
How do I pay for my session?
Payment is accepted by bank transfer prior to each session. Receipts are provided for all sessions, which you can submit to your private health insurer if your policy includes counselling cover.
Please note that Medicare rebates do not currently apply to my counselling sessions, as these rebates are specific to psychologists and certain other registered health professionals.
What should I expect from the first session?
Your first session runs for 90 minutes and is relaxed and unhurried. There are no forms to fill in on the day — I’ll guide the conversation at a comfortable pace. I’ll listen warmly to what’s brought you in and together we’ll begin to identify what you’d like to work on and how counselling might help.
Most people leave the first session feeling lighter and more hopeful than when they arrived. You’re under no pressure to commit to anything further after that first session — though most people choose to continue.
