Is This Right For You?
You don’t need to be in crisis to come.
Individual counselling is for anyone who wants dedicated time to think clearly, feel heard, and work through something — big or small. Some people come with a specific concern; others come because something feels off and they’re not quite sure why.
“Sometimes the most courageous thing you can do is sit down and actually talk about what’s going on inside.”
— Lee McCullagh
I work with adults across a wide range of concerns — from everyday stress, burnout, and anxiety to grief, trauma, chronic illness, and long-standing patterns that feel hard to shift. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming: whether you’re navigating questions of identity, coming out, family acceptance, or the particular stressors that come with being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, you’ll find a genuinely safe and non-judgmental space here.

Areas of Focus
What I commonly help people work through.
These are the areas I most frequently work with — though I welcome conversations about any concern not listed here.
Anxiety & Stress
Persistent worry, panic, overwhelm, social anxiety, or a nervous system that feels perpetually stuck in high gear. I offer practical tools alongside deeper exploration of what’s driving the anxiety.
Grief & Bereavement
The loss of a person, a relationship, a role, or a version of yourself. Grief takes many forms — I provide a steady, unhurried space to process it without being pushed toward any particular timeline.
Health & Wellbeing
Chronic illness, cancer, disability, and maladaptive coping patterns all carry profound emotional weight. I have specialist experience supporting individuals — and their carers — through the psychological and identity challenges that serious health conditions bring.
Life Transitions
Career change, relationship breakdown, becoming a parent, retirement, moving away from home — transitions often stir up more than we expect. I help you find your footing.
Self-Esteem & Identity
Chronic self-doubt, people-pleasing, imposter syndrome, or questions about who you are and what you want. I offer a compassionate space to explore and rebuild your relationship with yourself.
Work & Burnout
Workplace stress, burnout, difficult relationships at work, or simply feeling depleted and purposeless. I help you understand what’s happening and what genuinely needs to change.

The First Session
Your first session is
yours to lead.
The first session runs 90 minutes — longer than usual, and deliberately so. There’s no intake form on the day, no checklist to work through. I will simply ask what’s brought you in, and follow from there.
Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to work on. Others come with a feeling they can’t quite name. Both are completely fine. The first session is about getting to know each other at a pace that feels comfortable — not about producing outcomes.
Most people leave feeling lighter than when they arrived — with a clearer sense of what they’d like to work on and what the path forward might look like. There’s no pressure to commit to anything further after that first session, though most people choose to continue.
90 minutes
The first session is longer to give you space to arrive, settle in, and share what’s brought you here without feeling rushed.
No agenda
I don’t arrive with a plan. The conversation follows what matters most to you — I ask questions, listen carefully, and help you find clarity.
No obligation
You’re under no pressure to commit to ongoing sessions after the first. Take your time. Most people choose to continue — but the decision is always yours.

The Process
Simple to start, no pressure.
Getting started is straightforward. There’s no complicated process — just a conversation.

Step 01
Get in Touch
Call, email, or use the booking form to reach me. You don’t need a referral. A brief initial chat (free, 10 minutes) is available if you’d like to ask questions before committing to a session.
🌿
Step 02
Your First Session
The first session (90 minutes) is about getting to know you. I will ask about what’s brought you in and what you’re hoping for. You set the pace — nothing is pushed or rushed.
🍃
Step 03
Ongoing Work
From there, you and I decide together how often to meet and what you’ll focus on. Regular sessions run 60 minutes. Some people come weekly; others fortnightly. The approach adapts to what you actually need.

Questions About Booking
A few things people often ask.
Do I need to be in crisis to come for individual counselling?
Not at all. People come to individual counselling for all kinds of reasons — not just when things have reached a breaking point. Some come navigating a specific challenge; others come because something feels off and they can’t quite name it. Both are completely valid, and both respond well to the process.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies significantly depending on what you’re working through and your goals. Some people find 6–10 sessions gives them what they need; others prefer longer-term support over many months. I will discuss this openly and regularly review your progress together. There’s no fixed programme — the number of sessions is always guided by what’s genuinely helpful for you.
What happens in the first session?
The first session runs 90 minutes and is relaxed and unhurried. There are no forms to fill in on the day. I will listen warmly to what’s brought you in and together we’ll begin to identify what you’d like to work on. Most people leave feeling lighter and more hopeful. You’re under no pressure to commit to anything further after that first session.
